Healthy, fully vascularized tissue revealed with removal of NovoSorb BTM sealing membrane (Video)
The NovoSorb® BTM is ready to delaminate once the foam appearance is replaced by a light red color and capillary refill blanching is seen. Delamination of the film is achieved through consistent moderate traction of the film. The micro-rough vascularized neodermis aids in a quick “take” of a skin graft. Keratinocytes then migrate out from the interstices facilitating wound closure with minimal contraction and scarring. The body will continue to remodel the closed wound area with collagen conversion occurring over the next 12 to 18 months. The NovoSorb BTM is fully hydrolyzed/resorbed over an 18-month period leaving normalized host tissue.
